The Most important way for YouthSpeak to grow is to organize at the local level. We Need people to organize at the junior high, high school and college level.

How can you do this?

1. Start with your family and friends? Do any of them support youth rights? If they do, sign them up! YouthSpeak has no age requirements for membership.

2. Talk to classmates at your school: Do any support youth rights? If so, sign them up.

3. Pass out leaflets outside your school, or outside a mall, promoting YouthSpeak and your local chapter. Some people who receive your leaflets may be interested and join.

4. When you get a group of 5, 10 or 15 people, start a club. You could meet at your school, your home or even on-line.

5. When you form a group, contact us at youthspeak@oblivion.net, and give us information about it. We will need the names and e-mail addresses of all members.

What your group can do:

1. Work with YouthSpeak to organize protests in your town. For more information on how to organize protests click here Youthspeak will work with your group in organizing a protest.

2. Contact your local, state and national representatives. Politicians will listen to us if we form groups at the grassroots level. For more information onworking with politicians, click here

3. Write Letters to the Editor of your local newspapers. Newspapers will publish letters about your group's efforts. For more information about writing letters to the editor, click here

4. Work with YouthSpeak nationally to develop priorities in the battle for youth rights.

We encourage you to contact us if you need any further advice in organizing a group.
