This is YouthSpeak's third newsletter. YouthSpeak is one of the world's largest youth led, youth rights organizations. We fous on a lower voting age so that youth can finally have their voices heard. I. Now the News--
Washington D.C. Protest is on for May 15!
On May 15, teens from all over will come to Washington D.C. to protest for a lower voting age and against teen curfews. The protest will take place on the East steps of the U.S. Capitol from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. If you would be interested in attending the protest, please email us here at youthspeak (youthspeak@oblivion.net).
II. Organizing YouthSpeak: The Next Step: Chapter Organizing.
YouthSpeak has tripled in membership over the past year. We now have about 620 members. Our next step in organizing is to form local chapters. Local chapters have formed in a couple places. But we need more!
We really need chapter directors to start chapters at grade schools, high schools, colleges and neighborhoods.
These directors will meet with friends, coworkers and classmates who are interested in youth rights and form small groups. Directors will also coordinate local protests with YouthSpeak and keep in contact with the local media.
This is a great opportunity for any of you who are interested in helping lead the youth rights movement. It also looks good on a college resume. Anyone interested in organizing a YouthSpeak chapter, please email us at youthspeak@oblivion.net
III: Monthly Meeting on-line
YouthSpeak will hold a monthly on-line meeting to plan for the youth rights struggle. The address for irc users is irc.quintex.com room: #youthspeak

YouthSpeak has added a lot of new features recently. We now have pages that explain how to organize chapters, organize protests, as well as a youth rights research source page. Soon we will add a "contact congress" page, so you can find the email address of your congressperson and encourage them to support a lower voting age.
