On Friday, May 22, YouthSpeak will hold its first Operation Register protest campaign. Youth across America will be protesting to lower the voting age, so that they can at last have their voices heard and their ideas addressed. This is the first of several protest dates, leading up to November's election.

YouthSpeak is a youth led organization that was founded in 1997 by then-15 year old high school student Avi Hein. Today YouthSpeak has over 200 members of all ages from around the country. YouthSpeak is nonpartisan and endorses no political party. Our membership spans the political spectrum. We support the right of young people to make the individual political choices many adults take for granted. YouthSpeak is committed to peaceful, legal, grasstoots protests as well as legislative action and legal challenges to age discrimination in voting.

Protests will be held tomorrow in the following locations:

1. Santa Monica, California; 3rd Street Promenade (in front of the Midnight Special Bookstore), 4 PM, PDT.

This protest is being organized by the Association of Minor Persons

A California, youth rights organization.
