The voice or voices in our/their heads
There's something you should know - I'm on the SAC. But before you whip out the Norman Bates impression, hear me out. I joined because I couldn't stand the thought of our schools fate being left up to them.
You see, according to that spiral encased fire starter-thing, the SAC is supposed to be "the voice of the school's population." Yeah, right, I just suppose my voice is saying "Oh please, please overcharge me on a metal box to hold old lunches and a bad laminated picture of myself. And could you throw in one of those nifty (Pirk-o-matic) yearbooks too?" Or what about those half done, cheap effort 'activities' like spirit week or Milk Month; We're really screaming for those. As far as I'm concerned, the student council is really one big Scam And Con (...the irony). The only "voice" that this year's council represents is the ones of their friends. Ever notice that the dances are all their music, and the DJs are all friends for the execs? The next one boasts Requests; yeah, but as long as you request their stuff. It's MADNESS. However, it doesn't have to be like this. No, I don't mean assasinate ella presidente and her flock. I mean come to the meetings and speak up. Right now the SAC consists of really quiet people who don't object to much and agree to everything, so nothing gets changed. But if more people who do have an opinion come out, maybe the voice will finally be heard.
SAC meetings are held every Thursday after school in the lecture hall.
