OBLIVION
Report of the February 9, 2000 Board of Directors meeting.
Present: Maria Gonzalez, Matthew Havens, Jason Kende, Ben Livingston, Kristen Mason, Lawrence Rozanksi. Absent: Sven Berger, Tyler Creviston.
The meeting convenes at 5:46 p.m. PST.
A MULTIMEDIA EXPERIENCE
At Maria's request, Ben takes a picture of his mushroom-haired self, giving the meeting a more personal atmosphere.
BACK FROM THE DEAD?
Rumors of Lawrence Rozanski's death were proved untrue when he showed up for the meeting.
ISSUE #9
Ben proclaims that 500 issues of Oblivion #9 have been printed, block-printed, stapled, and folded. Maria and Kristen tell Ben to send them some, punker! Ben says he'll send Oblivions out the following day to the list of about 70 subscribers and to Maria. Ben hints that donations are needed, Matthew agrees to send stamps and a donation. Maria tells Ben that her money is on its way to Seattle as she speaks.
YOUTH RIGHTS RADIO
Ben tells all about his radio show, where he'll talk about youth rights. Everyone gets excited, until Ben says that the Studio X DSL isn't up yet, whatever that is, and that we can't hear him unless we fly to downtown Seattle.
THE OBLIVION MINISTRY OF CULTURE
Larry expresses an idea of his to make a centralized area on the web where "people can go to find art that's sympathetic to the youth rights struggle or in some way relates to it." Maria likes the idea, Matthew doesn't understand it and says that the Youth Rights Network is already doing that. Larry says it would be different... with criticisms of movies, books, zines, music, art that is youth rights related. The idea is liked by all.
ADJOURNMENT
Matthew and Kristen leave. Ben motions to adjourn. Motion passes. Meeting adjourns at 6:33 p.m. PST.
